Simple "Wanderlust" card

Hello Crafty Friends.

Many thanks to everyone who left comments on the CardMaker magazine/Quietfire Design blog hop post this weekend.  The winner has not been announced yet but I wish you all the best of luck!

Today's project is very much so different than the last post with layering of die cuts.  This card took only a few minutes to make but I really like how it turned out.  It also used a stamp that I enjoy using on projects, Wanderlust, by Quietfire Design.

Instructions:

  1. Create top fold 5.5" x 4.25" card using white card stock.
  2. Cut patterned paper to 5.25" x 4". Die cut using mixed media die.
  3. Stamp Wanderlust onto white card stock.  Die cut using pennant die.
  4. Mount onto card using double sided adhesive tape.
Easy!

(As an item of note, the package of stone paper is on sale right now at Elizabeth Craft designs for $1.95!  Sweet!)

Thanks for stopping by.  I do hope you enjoyed the simple Wanderlust card.

Have a happy, crafty day!

CardMaker-Quietfire Blog Hop

Welcome to our blog hop with CardMaker magazine!

Projects:
I created two Christmas/winter cards for the blog hop.  The first card used the newly released stamp set, A Whisper on my Nose:
A Whisper on my Nose, Set of 3 - Mounted
The quote was stamped onto white card stock and die cut.  While the die cut remained in the die, I gently applied blue ink around the embossed rim.
Next, several layers of blue glimmer and white card stock were die cut and layered.
The snowflakes from the same stamp set were stamped using the blue ink and mounted as shown.  White seam binding was used to create a double bow and a snowflake adhered to the bow.  Wee gems were added to the snowflake centers.
The second project was the small "Merry Christmas" card.  The sentiment is from the newly released stamp set, Christmas Eve was a Night of Song:
Christmas Eve was a Night of Song, Set of 2
This small card is perfect as a gift card holder.
Of course I had to add the sweet snowflakes to this card, too!

"A bit of fragrance" using Graphic 45 and Elizabeth Craft Designs new release!

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today I am popping in to share another project using a newly released stamp set from Elizabeth Craft Designs, A Bit of Fragrance:
A Bit of Fragrance Collection - Clear Stamps

As soon as I saw the new stamp set, I thought of using it with some Graphic 45 collections such as Cafe Parisian or the gorgeous flowers from Portrait of a Lady.  Cafe Parisian was pulled first and I am glad it was!  The fussy cut flowers were used to surround the beautiful quote.  Some flowers were adhered flat while others had double sided foam applied for pop.
The canvas doily anchored the quote and flowers to the card base.  Half pearls, a twine bow and Stickles were the finishing touches.
Thank you for stopping by to see the project using another wonderful Quietfire Design/Elizabeth Craft Design release!

Have a happy, crafty day.
Big Hugs,
Kathy Jo

"Flowers bloom" hope card- Graphic 45 and NEW Quietfire Design!

Hello Crafty Friends.

Exciting news: Suzanne Cannon has newly released stamps at Elizabeth Craft Designs!  The new stamp sets are each full of several stamps from gorgeous calligraphy quotes to whimsical designs.  Of course, Suzanne was busy designing her beautiful dies, too, and the new release is full of must-haves for a die cutter.

The first project using one of the new stamp sets is from the Where Flowers Bloom set:
To make the card (please note all product links are shown at the end of the post):

  1. Create a tent fold card using ivory card stock.
  2. Cut the patterned paper smaller than card base and adhere.
  3. Adhere canvas doily as shown.
  4. Cut image and adhere.
  5. Die cut heart and adhere.
  6. Stamp quote onto ivory card stock and fussy cut.  Adhere buds and quote.
  7. Cut lace (two types) and adhere.
  8. Adhere antique seam binding.  Create bow and add button.  Add pearls to flower centers

I know I have mentioned this before in previous posts, but I love how Quietfire Design products and Graphic 45 products work together.  They are a great pairing!
This card will be on display in my craft room.  The beautiful papers and uplifting quote will help to make my crafty space even more happy.  :)

Thanks for stopping by!  I do hope you enjoyed this first sneak at the new release.
Have a happy crafty day!
Big Hugs,
Kathy Jo

"Fairy" Mixed Media bookmarks

Hello Crafty Friends!

A couple of weeks ago I shared a mixed media fairy card using one of Quietfire Designs' new fairy stamp sets.  Well, I finally got around to tidying up the craft room and I came across some scrap pieces of the mixed media paper that were leftover from the card.  The paper was too pretty to toss and too small to create a card background...but it was a great size to create new bookmarks!  Tidying up the craft room was ceased (yay!) and crafting began (YAY!).

What gave me the idea for the bookmarks?  Recently I purchased Becca Feeken's Filligree bookmark die (S4-731) set from Blitsy.  The dies are gorgeous and were the perfect size for the scrap paper.  Even more good news, the dies could be used with Quietfire Designs' fairy die set, Nothing can be truer:
Nothing Can Be Truer, Set of 2 - Mounted
The image and quote were stamped onto the paper and die cut. The quote is so sweet!
Nuvo Crystal was applied to the background, too.  I love how Nuvo Crystal easily creates wee glimmer for a more fairy-like background.
Next, I die cut the remaining scrap with the ornate die cut from the same bookmark set.  White scrap paper was die cut using the largest die.  Just like all Becca's dies, this die set is elegant and creates beautiful bookmarks.
Black scrap paper was also die cut from the largest die and used for the fairy book mark.
The stamp set and die set work so well together.  The bookmarks are great gifts for friends/family and a wonderful way to use up your scrap paper.  (I don't know about you, but I have a large bin of scrap paper waiting to be used.  Some of that scrap paper will finally find a project!)

I hope you like the book marks and they inspire you to use some of your scraps.
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a happy, crafty day!
Big hugs,
Kathy Jo

Sweet "Baby Love"

Hello Crafty Friends!

Recently, friends of mine had their first baby- a cute-as-a-button little girl.  I work with the new dad and he has a glow about him.  When anyone asks how she is doing, his eyes sparkle and he smiles as he talks about her.  He is one happy Pappy!

I made a card for the new parents and passed it around for our team to sign.  He received the card and he smiled wide as he read our congratulatory messages.  :)

The card is my newest post at Elizabeth Craft Designs.  It uses a few Elizabeth Craft Designs dies and Graphic 45 papers.  Feel free to hop on over to read the instructions and see the products used.
Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Kathy Jo
